Europe on alert over Russian hybrid threat and 300,000 mobilization

Europe on alert over Russian hybrid threat and 300,000 mobilization
Moscow has repeatedly rejected Western claims that it is planning a conflict with NATO

A climate of hysteria prevails in European capitals regarding the prospect that Russia is allegedly intensifying so-called «hybrid» operations against NATO member states.

According to a report by The Daily Telegraph, Western intelligence agencies assess that Moscow is making administrative preparations that could allow a form of «stealth mobilization» following the Russian parliamentary elections.
The same sources, however, appear cautious regarding the scenario of an overt, mass mobilization of 300,000 soldiers, emphasizing that for the time being, what is primarily recorded is the creation of the necessary mechanisms in the event that a relevant political decision is taken.
Concurrently, reports indicate that Russia is stepping up recruitment efforts, seeking new personnel even among citizens facing financial or legal difficulties.
At the same time, European leaders warn of an escalation in hybrid threats, ranging from cyberattacks and sabotage to drone incursions and airspace violations.
A recent American report to the US Congress also records an increase in the intensity and aggressiveness of operations attributed to Russian intelligence agencies in Europe.
Moscow has repeatedly rejected Western claims that it is planning a conflict with NATO.
Consequently, scenarios regarding a new mobilization remain assessments of Western and Ukrainian agencies.
